Doral Glades Park

This new 20-acre park facility is located just north of NW 74th Street and west of NW 102nd Avenue in the City of Doral. The park provides numerous recreational opportunities for visitors with emphasis on sporting activities, the nature center and an overall site with an educational focus.

Services requested by City of Doral included design, permitting, and construction services of site development and infrastructure elements for a nature center with pedestrian docks, kayak launch, tennis and basketball courts, a multipurpose field, playgrounds, roadways, parking, and concrete walks to create connectivity to the park.

GEP provided site civil engineering design and permitting for park and nature center. Project challenges included site access and security, implementing green initiatives, an educational influence, and environmental concerns for wetlands and water quality. Civil design components include all site grading, lift station design, roadway and parking lot design, water and sewer utilities, and signage & striping for options on managing site access. Permitting was required through SFWMD, the City of Doral, and Miami-Dade County.
